Kolkata, the gateway to East. A place for tourist attractions. You can go for several days tours in Kolkata as of your interest and choice. Herewith I am giving the most popular.
Kolkata Day Tour Plan (Balanced, Full-Day Route)
7:00 – 8:30 AM | Victoria Memorial + St. Paul’s Cathedral
Start at: Victoria Memorial (Maidan area)
Walk through the gardens, capture morning light on the marble dome.
Optional: The museum opens at 10, so you can skip it now if you prefer early quiet.
Next: Walk (5 min) to St. Paul’s Cathedral — calm and cool inside.
Breakfast nearby: Flurys or The Blue Poppy (Tibetan joint) on Park Street.
Travel time to the next stop: 15–20 min by cab.
8:45 – 11:30 AM | Indian Museum + College Street + Coffee House
Indian Museum (Esplanade) — Spend 45 min max; old but interesting collection.
Then drive or take the tram to College Street (Boi Para) — Asia’s largest book market.
Have coffee at Indian Coffee House — legendary adda spot where freedom fighters and poets debated for decades.
Travel time to the next stop: 20–25 min to Kalighat.
11:45 AM – 1:15 PM | Kalighat Temple
Witness Kolkata’s spiritual side. Go light with your belongings; the lanes get busy.
After offering prayers, stop for coconut water or lassi outside the temple.
Travel time to lunch stop: 10–15 min.
1:30 – 2:30 PM | Lunch at 6 Ballygunge Place
Classic Bengali meal: kosha mangsho, luchi, or fish curry.
If you prefer continental, Peter Cat or Mocambo back on Park Street are solid.
Travel time to the next stop: 25–30 min (crossing to the riverside).

3:00 – 5:30 PM | Howrah Bridge + Prinsep Ghat
Drive towards the Howrah Bridge viewpoint (you can’t stop on it but the drive itself is beautiful).
Then continue to Prinsep Ghat — relax by the river, do a short Hooghly boat ride at sunset.
Great for photos around the golden hour.
Optional extension: If you have time, go across the river to Belur Math (40 min drive) — peaceful and architecturally stunning.
6:00 – 8:00 PM | Dinner & Night Drive
Return to Park Street for dinner.

After dinner, do a night drive: Red Road → Maidan → Eden Gardens → Howrah Bridge illumination.
